Estepona suffered greatly during the financial crisis with many developments and planned works brought to a standstill. Thankfully part of the Mayor’s initiatives included restarting work at locations like Playa el Cristo, where work was halted part way through. Now the roads and viewing point will be completed allowing the local developments to benefit.
Another works of interest in Estepona is the restoration of the San Luis Castle with the overall aim of restoring areas of the building and actually making the new sections available for events, concerts and a historical section showing the history and progress of Estepona.
